My gratitude to @JosepPituRoca because for me these learnings have been a source of inspiration for creating and managing any TEAM.

These are the notes I took listening to a talk by @JosepPituRoca of the Celler de Can Roca in the fall of 2014. They are still as current as they were then.

One says what one says and another listens to what they listen to and it is possible that a third learns whatever they wish to learn. And that's how language works.

I would cite the following notes as his learnings and they are no more than the notes I heard. And there is always a gap in the saying, another in the listening and another in the transcribing.

31 learnings ...

(inspired by @JosepPituRoca)

  1. We decided to stop billing 1/5 to improve the communication of our TEAM.
  2. SUCCESS makes you change your personal space and the perception others have of you.
  3. We believe in the need to manage EMOTIONS.
  4. In this process our team are BETTER PEOPLE. I don't know whether they will be better cooks.
  5. Build the team on DIFFERENCE.
  6. Build the strategy thinking about the SEDUCTION of our customers.
  7. Accept feedback as part of the emotional connection with our customers. That builds CLOSENESS.
  8. Live the routine of success through the perseverance of carrying on with your DAILY WORK.
  9. The FRAGILITY OF SUCCESS: success lies in the domain of whoever perceives you as successful. Success is also a SOURCE OF ENERGY.
  10. Behind an org chart, EVERY PERSON is ESSENTIAL. Those who do not capitalize on success personally are enablers of the team's success.
  11. Feeling good about yourself as a basic for creating a positive experience for our customers.
  12. NORMALITY as the norm. Neither submissiveness nor aggressiveness (that is called ASSERTIVENESS).
  13. LISTENING as an active part of language. And if we are going to talk... better to tell a story, a TALE.
  14. Stepping out of your comfort zone as a way to improve the POTENTIAL OF A TEAM.
  15. GENEROSITY, HOSPITALITY and EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE as virtues in the customer experience.
  16. Handing out shares of success is a potential source of CONFLICT.
  17. Where you put your ATTENTION, you put your LIFE.
  18. There are NO BAD PEOPLE, there are only strange situations and conversations never had.
  19. People are like plants. We need to be CARED FOR. We feel better when we are "loved" than when we are "paid".
  20. We are all DEPENDENT.
  21. Conflicts heal when you do the GRIEVING. You have to go through the pain. From conflicts, as from the pig, you use EVERYTHING.
  22. Setting BOUNDARIES is a way of taking care of the team.
  23. We all have a TALENT of our own. Intelligence is a gift shared out among each and every member of a team.
  24. Replace the territory of beliefs with the territory of FEELINGS.
  25. Objectives become results when pressure turns into a CROSS-CUTTING energy for a team.
  26. We are not so different and we all want to feel LOVED.
  27. We are living a SENSITIVE REVOLUTION. Opening ourselves to the sense of fascination as a way to connect with the basics, with nature. Reason at the service of intuition.
  28. A successful activity is an activity that calls for the responsibility of maintaining HUMILITY.
  29. AUTHENTICITY as the key to sustainability.
  30. We know the price of everything and the VALUE OF NOTHING.
  31. The only thing that unites us is IGNORANCE and the only thing that separates us is knowledge.

... 1 decalogue for any TEAM

(inspired by @JosepPituRoca)

And a DECALOGUE OF EMOTIONS or values... and that is for each person to decide:

honesty, responsibility, humility, sincerity, respect, camaraderie, solidarity, learning, passion and effort.

One says what one says and another listens to what they listen to and it is possible that a third learns whatever they wish to learn. I hope that @JosepPituRoca's source, my listening and your reading turn it into your source of learning. That is my wish.
